Following a report by China building a second bridge across Pangong Tso Lake in eastern Ladakh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Friday that India’s national security and territorial integrity is non-negotiable while he is Prime Minister Narendra. Modi urged to defend the nation.
The congress leader’s comment came after the State Department (MEA) said on Thursday it was monitoring the situation after reports claimed the Chinese side was building a second bridge across Pangong Tso Lake in the Union Territory of ladakh.
“China is building the first bridge on Pangong. Government of India: We are monitoring the situation. China is building the second bridge on Pangong. Government of India: We are monitoring the situation,” the congress leader said in a tweet.
“India’s national security and territorial integrity is non-negotiable. A timid and docile response is not enough. The Prime Minister must defend the nation,” he added.
The opposition has constantly attacked the NDA government for its response to China.
After rising tensions over the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the summer of 2020, including in Pangong Tso, India and China have held 15 rounds of talks on withdrawal to ease tensions in the area.
