A man, who was attending a wedding ceremony on the groom's side, ran over seven people with his car in Dausa in Rajasthan after an argument over bursting fireworks with the bride's relatives.
According to police, the fight started when the groom's procession arrived at the bride's village in Dausa. The accused man, who was driving his car, reportedly had an argument with the bride's relatives over bursting fireworks outside the wedding venue.
The man wanted to park his car at the spot where the crackers were bursting, officials said.
The fight quickly took a violent turn when the man hit seven people standing in front of him.
A video of the incident is also making the rounds on social media, showing several people with injuries on the ground.
Of the seven people, one is said to be in critical condition while others are being treated for injuries at a hospital in Jaipur, police said.
The suspect is currently on the run and police have formed a team to locate him, officials said.
The license plate of the car, which fell during the incident, has also been found. The number belongs to Sawai Madhopur district.
“We will find him and arrest him at the earliest,” said Lalsot Additional Superintendent of Police Dinesh Aggarwal.
