Congress today attacked the Center over the rise in gasoline and diesel prices, saying it must stop “blatant braiding” from the public. The party also announced on March 31 that it would protest the increase in fuel prices.
“On March 31 at 11 a.m., people will protest outside their homes and public places with garland gas cylinders and drums, other instruments to draw the attention of the deaf BJP government against the insurmountable rise in the prices of gas, petrol, and diesel. Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala said today.
Former head of Congress, Rahul Gandhi, waved at the BJP government and said: “King prepares for a palace, while subjects falter under inflation.”
Petrol and diesel prices rose 80 paise per liter on Saturday, the fourth rise in five days as oil companies passed on the spike in raw material costs to consumers.
