Meerut, Uttar Pradesh:
Changing farming methods is necessary not only for India but for the whole world, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said Sunday, advising farmers to adopt cow-based agriculture.
The leader of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was speaking at a farmers’ conference organized by the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh in Hastinapur.
“Cow farming does not disturb the cycle of nature. Our farmers are concerned. All their demands cannot be met, so crop costs must be reduced. This is only possible with cow farming,” said Bhagwat.
He urged farmers to shun the use of chemicals, adding: “Our land has been plowed for thousands of years. Yet it is still fertile. We have seen the loss of agricultural production by indiscriminately increasing it.
“Chemicals used in agriculture enter our bodies and make us sick.” Mohan Bhagwat said the government could change policy but farmers will have to do the work to save agriculture and wildlife.
During his visit, the RSS chief also stopped at the ancient historical sites of the “Mahabharata” period in Hastinapur.
