Bombay:
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut attacked the Bharatiya Janata party on Sunday for giving Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the power to form a government with her party in the former state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Responding to PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti’s comment calling for dialogue with Pakistan and the people of Jammu and Kashmir to bring peace to the region, the Sena leader said: “She has made such statements because BJP has given strength by previously having a government with her.”
“PDP has always been pro-Pakistan and sympathizer with terrorists. By forming a government with its BJP, she has empowered them, BJP is responsible for her comments,” said Mr Raut.
PDP and BJP had formed an alliance in 2015 after the poll to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir. The alliance broke up in June 2018.
“Mehbooba Mufti has been a close friend of the BJP. Despite her support for Afzal Guru and Burhan Wani, the BJP formed the government in Jammu and Kashmir with her. The BJP is responsible for everything Mufti says today. keep resisting it.” said Mr. Raut.
Speaking to party workers in Ramban on Saturday, Ms Mufti had said that peace in the region will not come until the Kashmir issue is resolved.
“Kashmir has been waiting for a solution for 70 years…there will be no peace in the region until the Kashmir issue is resolved, and that requires dialogue with Pakistan and the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” said former Prime Minister Mufti .
Rajya Sabha member Mr Raut further said that Shiv Sena’s view of Kashmir is clear that they oppose the ideology of PDP.
