Delhi Police officials on Tuesday arrested two youths accused of robbing a shop owner at gunpoint under the confines of Prem Nagar police station in the national capital, police said.
Both suspects are 16 years old, police said.
On Tuesday, a robbery was reported at Prem Nagar police station. Prosecutor filed his complaint that two boys stormed into his store [Grahak Sewa Kendra] and intimidated him into giving money at gunpoint.
“They robbed Rs 1000-1500 from the shop owner at gunpoint,” Delhi police said.
“A case under Sections 392/397/34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at Prem Nagar Police Station and the investigation continued,” the police added.
CCTV footage of the place was examined during the investigation and both were later identified as residents of Shani Bazar Road, Kirari Suleman Nagar, Delhi. Both were minors aged 16 and have been arrested in the case.
A gun (Desi Katta), a knife and two cartridges used in the alleged robbery have been recovered from their possession,” the police said, adding that one of the youths was previously involved in a case.
