Thane:
A man has been arrested for allegedly forging the signature of Police Commissioner Jai Jeet Singh and making a false license to operate a security service, an official said Tuesday. Based on a tip, a police team raided the premises of the suspect’s security service, Shivam Lalsaheb Pandey, in the Azadnagar area on Sunday, Inspector SS Nimbalkar said.
He showed a permit and permit to the robbery team. The fake certificate contained the date 27.02.2022 valid until 26.02 2027.
During the interrogation, the suspect told the police that he had made up the certificate, the official said.
The suspect further told police that he took a copy of a certificate/license from an online platform and tampered with it by putting the name of him and his agency on it. He also forged Thane’s police commissioner’s signature and other details on it, the official said.
The suspect later forwarded the forged copy of the certificate/license to a friend who had it printed for him, he said.
Police seized a laptop, cell phone and other equipment used in the fraud, the official said.
A case against the accused was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act.
