New Delhi:
The Supreme Court is planning to hear the petition of YouTuber and Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia today, looking for the club of several things that have been made against him about his controversial comments made at the show of comedian Samay Rainina 'India's Got Latent'. A bank consisting of judges Surya Kant and n Kotiswar Singh is expected to take over the case today.
The hearing is planned after Allahbadia, who is confronted with police questions, moved the Supreme Court last week to combine the FIRs against him. He also sought anticipatory bail to ward off the arrest of the Guwahati police. Last week the lawyer of Allahbadia, Abhinav Chandrachud – the son of the former supreme judge of India Dy Chandrachud – sought an urgent list of the case in the top court. However, the request was rejected by supreme judge Sanjiv Khanna.
Various FIRs have been submitted against Allahbadia AKA 'Beerbiceps Guy' in Maharashtra, Assam and Jaipur – after which he was asked to record personal statements. He still has to respond to research agencies after he has been mentioned in FIRs submitted by Maharashtra Cyber Department, the police of Guwahati and the police of Jaipur in the 'India's Got Latent' case, the police said.
Days after he tried to contact the Podcaster, the police of Mumbai and Guwahati issued a joint statement on Monday and said that Allahbadia had no constant contact with the research agencies.
“Separate from Maharashtra Cyber and Guwahati Police, The Jaipur Police Have also Filed A Case Against Ranveer Allahbadia, but he has not yet leg in contact with them. Maharashtra Cyber Department has ordered ranveveer to Appear Before it on February 24 , “It Said.
Last week, officials went looking for Allahbadia in his residence in Mumbai, but his apartment was locked up.
Allahbadia would also appear on Monday morning for the National Commission for Women (NCW), but as with the summons of the Mumbai Police he skipped the call. He was recalled by the women's panel on 6 March.
The podcaster has cited death threats because they cannot appear for the research agencies. Allahbadia posted a statement on social media and said: “I see the death threats flowing in of people who say they want to kill me … My family hurts … Some even tried to invade the clinic of my other who occurred like patients. “
“I feel scared and I don't know what to do … but I don't run away. I have completely faith in the police and the judicial system of India,” he added.
'India has a latent' row
A huge line broke out after Allahbadia made unsavory comments about parents and sex in Raina's show 'India's Got Latent'. The comments led to massive indignation and a debate in parliament, which led to several complaints against the personality of social media.
Things have been submitted against other YouTubers who appeared in the show, including Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Mukhija.
Hours after the episode of YouTube was removed, Raina issued a statement stating that he had removed all the videos from the show from his channel and “fully collaborated” with the authorities. “Everything that happened is too much for me to handle. I have all the India have removed late videos from my channel. My only goal was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will work completely together With all the agencies to ensure their questions are being closed fairly.
Allahbadia also apologized in a video that his comments were not “just inappropriate, but not even funny”.
“Comedy is not my strength, I'm just here to say sorry,” he said in a video message. He also acknowledged that he had abused his platform. “I am not going to give context or justification or reasoning behind what happened. I am just here for an apology. I personally had a judgment in my opinion. It was not cool on my part,” he said.
