The reigning TRS President and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao set out for Mumbai from Hyderabad on Sunday to meet with his Maharashtra counterpart Uddhav Thackeray and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar as part of his campaign against the alleged “anti- popular” policy of the BJP.
Mr Rao, also known as KCR, left for Mumbai from Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad along with his party leaders to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Thackeray at his residence in Mumbai and have lunch with him, TRS sources said.
After meeting with Mr Thackeray, Mr Rao would go to Mr Pawar’s residence and discuss national political issues, the sources said.

Mr Rao would return to Hyderabad in the evening.
Mr Thackeray, the president of the ruling Shiv Sena of Maharashtra, called Rao last week and invited him to come to Mumbai.
Mr Thackeray announced “full support” for Mr Rao’s “struggle” against the BJP’s alleged anti-popular policies and to uphold the federal spirit.
The chief minister of Maharashtra suggested discussing the future course of action on the matter when Rao meets with him.
Mr Thackeray appreciated Mr Rao’s efforts, pointing out that the former “raised his voice at the right time to protect the nation from divisive forces,” the release said.
Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (secular) President HD Deve Gowda had recently summoned Rao and supported his “struggle”.
Mr Rao had told Mr Gowda that he would visit Bengaluru and meet with him on the matter.
The chief minister of Telangana, who has criticized the BJP and the central government on a number of points, had said he would soon meet with his counterparts in Maharashtra and West Bengal, Thackeray and Mamata Banerjee respectively, as part of the effort. to unite different political parties against the saffron party and the NDA government.
Rao believed that the NDA government led by Narendra Modi should be dumped for its alleged “anti-popular” policies, and he had said he would play an important role in uniting anti-BJP political parties.
TRS and BJP in Telangana have been engaged in a bitter battle of words over several issues for several months.
