At least five of the functions, including service technician and various advisory roles, were available in both Mumbai and Delhi, while the rest of the openings, such as Customer Engagement Manager and Delivery Operations Specialist, were for Mumbai.
Tesla and India have been involved on and off for years, but the car manufacturer had stayed away from the South Asian nation for concern about high import duties. India's now reduced base customs on high -quality cars priced above $ 40,000 from 110% to 70%.
Although the EV market of India is still on the rise compared to that of China, it offers a road for Tesla to check the delaying turnover after it had posted its first annual fall in the sale in more than ten years. The sale of electric cars in India is nearly 100,000 units approaching last year compared to China's 11 million.
The India intention of Tesla follows the meeting of PM Modi with Musk and President Donald Trump in Washington last week.
