Increasing per capita income is an important aspect on the path to becoming a developed nation, industrialist Naveen Jindal said today, hoping that the upcoming Budget will lead the country towards realizing this dream. In an exclusive conversation with DailyExpertNews, the chairman of Jindal Steel and Power also spoke about Donald Trump's takeover as president and how it could impact India-US ties.
“Nirmala Sitharaman is an experienced finance minister. She has presented many budgets. Today, the country is moving on the path of economic progress. It is expected that the Budget 2025-2026 will take the country to a developed country where every department is taken care of,” said Mr Jindal.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown the country the vision of a developed India, added the industrialist, who is also a parliamentarian.
“The most important scale of developed India is per capita income. Increasing the income of the common people is the most important aspect. We are all working towards this vision,” he said.
If every citizen works and keeps the interests of the country in mind, no one can prevent the country from becoming a developed country, he added.
Asked about the change of government in the US and what it means for India-US business ties, he said he hopes Donald Trump's second term will be better than the first.
“India-America ties are not just based on governments. The relationship between people is also very good. There are almost no Indian citizens working in the US, and they have played an important role in making America powerful,” he said. Mr. Jindal.
Trump will take charge on January 20, replacing Democrat Joe Biden as president of the world's largest economy. He emphasized that the Republican enjoys good relations with Prime Minister Modi and hoped that India-US ties would be strengthened under him.

Mr Jindal also spoke about the landmark case he won in the Supreme Court, which confirmed that all Indians had the right to fly the Indian flag on all days of the year.
