Bengaluru:
A special court in Bengaluru has postponed his decision on the petition of the enforcement directorate to challenge the “B report” of Lokayukta in the Muda Land Case, in which Minister -President Siddaramaiah has been appointed. The court said it would not give a decision about the petition until the final report of the police of Lokayukta was submitted. Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat has instructed the Lokayukta police to continue the investigation and to submit the final report.
In the “B report” the police of Lokayukta had given a clean entrance to the Chief Minister, his wife Parvati, the brother of the woman and the land seller due to lack of evidence. However, the ED has challenged the report and demanded a deeper probe.
The Lokayukta is already investigating more than 130 other people who are connected to the alleged scam.
Earlier, the Lokayukta police had submitted a first report after he had viewed the allegations against Siddaramaiah and three others.
But the court said that the investigation should not be limited to only four people and asked the police to investigate anyone who is connected to the case and to submit an extensive report.
The next hearing of the case is on 7 May.
The Muda case includes accusations of illegalities in the allocation of 14 premium locations in MySuru to the wife of Mr. Siddaramaiah by the authority.
It has been claimed that the value of the compensating locations – located in a chic area in MySuru – is much higher than that of the ground that Muda has acquired from her.
Social activists have claimed that the allocation has led to a loss of RS 45 Crore for the state.
In addition to Mr. Siddaramaiah and his wife, his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, Devaraju and others mentioned in the FIR registered by the Lokayukta police on 27 September.
Devaraju is the man from whom Mallikarjuna had bought Swamy Land and had given it to Mrs. Parvathi.
