In a fitting response to Pakistan’s new army chief Asim Munir’s statement on Pakistani-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Congress Chief Harish Rawat said on Sunday that now is the time to take back PoK.
Mr. Rawat said Pakistan is currently in a weak condition and now is the time when we can get PoK out of Pakistan.
Mr Rawat said, “It is our responsibility to liberate PoK from the illegal occupation of Pakistan. We passed a resolution in parliament during the Congress government. Now the Modi government should also put this on its agenda. Right now is Pakistan in a weak condition, now is the time when we can get PoK out of Pakistan.”
Referring to the statement by Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi that the Indian Army is ready to carry out orders such as taking back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, COAS General Syed Asim Munir said within a week after his appointment that if his country is attacked, the establishment will defend his “motherland” and will also fight back against the enemy.
“Let me make it categorically clear that the Pakistan Armed Forces are always ready not only to defend every inch of our Motherland, but to take the fight back to the enemy, if war is ever imposed upon us,” the press release read. of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) quoted him as saying.
“Any misconception that results in a setback will always be met with the full might of our armed forces, backed by a resilient nation,” army chief Pak said.
Earlier on October 28, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated New Delhi’s decision to take back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and said all refugees would return their land and homes.
