New Delhi:
An accused of the Delhi Liquor scam – Vijay Nair, in charge of Aam Aadmi party communications – had arranged a FaceTime video call from his phone between Sameer Mahendru, head of Indospirits, and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, it alleges Directorate for Enforcement in a new set of specifications. On behalf of AAP leaders, Vijay Nair received Rs 100 crore from the “South group” as an advance for licenses in Delhi’s liquor policy, the agency alleged.
The indictment, which has been seen by DailyExpertNews, also alleges that Mr Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi party used the money from the booze scam for his campaign in Goa.
Cash payments amounting to 70 lakhs were made to volunteers from the investigative teams, the agency alleges.
The “South Group” consisted of Kavitha of Telangana’s ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi, Magunta Srinivasalu Reddy, a member of parliament from Andhra Pradesh’s ruling YSR Congress, and Sarath Reddy of Aurobindo Pharma, the agency claimed.
“Vijay is my boy, you have to trust him and get on with him,” Mr Kejriwal had apparently told Sameer Mahendru, according to the Enforcement Directorate.
