The terror attack that was swept by Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday has left a mourning family in various cities throughout the country, including Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
Shubham Dwivedi, a newlywed who went to Kashmir with his wife for a short vacation, was one of the citizens who were killed in the attack. Shubham was married on February 12, 2025, only two months earlier. Tragically enough, his journey turned into a nightmare.
Speaking with Ani, his cousin, Saurabh Dwivedi, claimed that the terrorist began to shoot after he had asked the names of the individuals and was shot in the head.
“Shubham Bhaiya married on 12 February this year. He was in Pahalgam with his wife. My sister-in-law called my uncle and told him that Shubham was shot in the head. It is also said that the shooting started after asking for the names of the individuals … We received information that the body will be released after 2-3 days after all procedures …” He.
In another unfolded name, Dilip Desale, a resident of Panvel, Maharashtra, was also one of the victims of the terror attack, who claimed his life.
BJP MLA Prashant Thakur condemned the attack and said: “The tragic and horrible attack in Jammu and Kashmir should be strongly convicted … Dilip Desale, a resident of New Panvel, died in shooting …”

The attack has demanded the lives of various tourists, including a young Indian naval officer from Karnaal, Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was recently married, Prashant Satpathy, a account officer from Odisha and Shailesh Cadatiya from Surat.
Prashant was killed in the attack and left his family without information about his wife and young son, who were traveling with him. He had gone with his wife and son a short vacation to Jammu and Kashmir.
In conversation with reporters, his older brother, Susanta Satpathy, remembered the moment the family received the heartbreaking news.
“We received the information around 3 p.m. … When we called the free song, they just informed us of the death of my younger brother. I have no information about the wife of my younger brother or my cousin, where they are. Extra DSP has contacted me … he (prashant satpathy) worked as an accounts officer …” Susanta said.
In the meantime, Shailesh Bhai Himmat Bhai Cadatiya, a 44-year-old, was killed in the attack, while his wife and children survived and are currently safe. He was traveling with his wife and two children when the gunfire broke out on Tuesday, killed him and injured several others.
Deputy Tehsildar of the Emergency Operation Center of Surat, Sazid Merujay, confirmed the tragic development.
In another tragic case, Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, a 26-year-old Indian naval officer from Karnaal, Haryana, was also killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Narwal was recently married and was on leave and enjoyed a short holiday in Kashmir.
Defense officials confirmed that the 26-year-old officer, who was placed in Kochi, had traveled to Kashmir for a short vacation after his marriage on 16 April. His marriage reception was held on April 19.
Narwal had become with the Navy only two years ago and was placed in Kochi. His death has sent shock waves by his family, community and the Defense Establishment. Neighbors and locals have expressed their participation, where many describe Narwal as a young officer with a bright future.
This attack was broadly condemned by the local population. Taxi drivers in Pahalgam held a candlelight protest march against the Pahalgam attack. Residents of Jammu and Kashmir stood up for a candlelight march in various places in the state against Pahalgam's terror attack that took place on Tuesday. The local population in Baramulla, Srinagar, Poonch, Akhnoor and Kupwara held a candlelight march, while Bajrang Dal workers in Jammu held a protest against the terror attack.

Five tourists from Maharashtra have also lost their lives in Pahalgam's recent terror attack, according to a statement from the office of Vice -Minister President Eknath Shinde.
The deputy CM has asked civil aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu to arrange a special flight to evacuate stranded tourists from Maharashtra.
In response to the profession, the Minister of Union Shind ensured that as soon as the list of stranded persons is shared with the Ministry, the efforts will be initiated to transport them to Mumbai as a priority.
Previously Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the terror attack in the Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir and said that those behind this horrible act will be brought to court.
In a post on X, pm modes stated that those who are responsible for this horrible act will be brought to court. “I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolances to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the wounded person recovers as quickly as possible. All possible assistance is offered to the affected,” said PM MODI.
“Those behind this horrible act will be brought to court … they will not be saved! Their bad agenda will never succeed. Our determination to combat terrorism is unwavering and it will become even stronger,” he added.
Interior Minister Amit Shah was chairman of a high -level security meeting with all agencies after the terror attack of Pahalgam.
Minister of the Interior Shah reached Srinagar on Tuesday evening before the Security Assessment meeting. He said earlier that those involved in this cowardly act of terror will not be saved.
The Indian army and the police of Jammu and the Kashmir have launched a search operation in the general area of Baisran, Pahalgam, Anantnag, to take the perpetrators of the attack.
The Delhi police have also been instructed to keep a close eye on tourist places and other important places.
