Outgoing Vice President Venkaiah Naidu listens intently and pecks AAP leader Raghav Chadha’s”pehla pyaar (first love)” commented during a parliamentary exchange on Monday. Mr Naidu’s one-liner had the members down.
“Someone remembers his first experience. The first day of school, first principal, first teacher. First love. I will always remember you as my first president,” said AAP’s Raghav Chadha during his farewell address to the vice president.
“Raghav, I believe you only love once… The first time, the second time), does it happen like this? No, right. You only love once, right,” replied Mr. Naidu in Hindi, what a laughed in the House.
To this, the smiling AAP leader said, “I don’t have that experience, sir. But it’s okay.”
“Rooster, pehla pyaar achha hota hai. Wahi pyaar hamesha rehna hai, zindagi bhar (Yes, the first love is good. The same love should last forever),’ Mr. Naidu said, among other laughs.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, BJP chief JP Nadda, Trinamool’s Derek O’Brien, among others, were present in the House.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the outgoing chairman for encouraging members to speak in their native language and also MPs from the non-Hindi belt to speak in Hindi. He also praised Mr Naidu for his reply.
“Your one-liners are also pranksters and win-liners… After that, there’s nothing left to say. Every word is heard, preferred, revered and never refuted,” Prime Minister Modi said.
Mr Naidu will complete his five-year term on 10 August. Jagdeep Dhankhar will succeed him.
