Sonitpur, Assam:
A wild elephant was found dead on a tea plantation in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Tuesday evening.
According to reports, staff at the Adabari tea plantation near Balipara in the Sonitpur district saw the elephant and immediately informed local forest rangers and police.
A team from the forestry service immediately arrived and found the dead elephant at no. 23. line of the tea plantation.
“The tea plantation employees have informed us about the incident. We have also informed our higher authority and the vet. We will find out the exact cause of death of the wild elephant,” said Anil Borthakur, Amaribari Central Forest Range deputy forest ranger. .
