A 22-year-old woman here was reportedly locked in a hotel room by two men, beaten and sexually assaulted by one of them, police said on Wednesday.
The woman from West Bengal was unemployed and was lured to a hotel room in Sector 46 by one of her known suspects on the pretext of getting her a good job.
The woman was held for two days and one of the accused also tried to rape her, she told police.
On Tuesday night she tried to escape but was caught by the duo who bundled her into their car and tried to leave the hotel to find a police van at the exit gate.
The suspect panicked and fled leaving behind the car and the woman, police said.
Police have arrested one of the suspects while the other is on the run.
The two have been booked under sections 323 (causing pain), 342 (wrongful detention), 354-B (assault), 376/511 (attempted rape), 34 (common intent) of the Indian Penal Code, they said.
