Woman’s body found in suitcase on Rohtak Highway: Police

A woman’s body was found in a suitcase on the Rohtak-Jaipur highway near a railway crossing in Panipat’s Haryana town, police said on Tuesday.

After getting information about the incident, a Haryana police squad reached the spot. The Forensic Science Laboratory team also arrived at the scene and inspected the briefcase and the site where the briefcase was found.

IPS officer Mayank Mishra, ASP Panipat zone also reached the spot with his team.

Police officials stated that all necessary evidence had been collected.

“Police are investigating. Since the body was not identified, it was sent to the civilian hospital,” police officials said.

A video has since gone viral on social media platforms. The alleged video shows a woman lying in the suitcase with her mouth taped shut and her legs bound together with a green rope.

According to the police, the way the body was found indicated that there may have been a murder.

Superintendent of Police Shashank Kumar Sawan formed five teams to investigate the incident. The teams include Crime Investigation Agency Unit 1, Unit 2 and Unit 3 as well as the Sector 29 police station and the cyber team is led by the ASP.

In December last year, a decomposed body of an unidentified woman was found in a suitcase in the Punjabi Bagh region of West Delhi, Delhi police said. According to the police, their control room received a call about a suitcase that emitted a foul odor.

A team from the Delhi Police reached the spot and pulled it out of the drain with the help of local divers, and upon opening the briefcase found a highly decomposed body of a woman.

Last November, a woman’s body was found in a suitcase on the Yamuna Expressway service road, Mathura police said.

In October 2022, Gurgaon Police recovered a suitcase filled with a woman’s body. The husband of the woman arrested by the police has confessed to killing his wife because of a domestic problem.
