Varanasi:
The helicopter of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath made an emergency landing in Varanasi this morning after a bird was hit just after takeoff, officials said.
The Chief Minister later traveled to Lucknow on another plane.
Officials said a bird hit the window of the Lucknow-bound helicopter after it took off. The pilot then requested an emergency landing and the helicopter landed back safely at Varanasi’s Police Lines Ground.
There have been no reports of any injuries, she added.
“A bird hit the Chief Minister’s helicopter after taking off from here (Varanasi) to Lucknow, after which he had to land here,” said District Magistrate Kaushalraj Sharma.
Yogi Adityanath, who came to Varanasi on Saturday, visited the city’s Kashi Vishwanath Temple and also held a review meeting, officials said.
