The summer season takes its toll on your skin, taking away its essential oils and natural glow. While you can visit a salon to get good quality skin care, the weather can make everyone lazy to go outside. So if you’re looking for tips on how to maintain happy skin in the comfort of your own home, we’ve got some easy solutions for you. These DIY tips will not only help you take good care of your skin this summer, but are also budget-friendly.
Exfoliate your skin
It is very important for you to exfoliate your skin regularly. Why? The body sheds skin cells every minute of the day, and if you don’t remove them, they settle on your skin, leaving your face looking dull and dry. You can empty bottles of lotion on your skin, you won’t get glowing skin if you don’t exfoliate. Keep in mind that body scrub and face scrub are different and one cannot replace the other.
sunshade
You have to dare to step out of your house in this scorching heat without sunscreen. Buy sunscreens with UVA or UVB products with SPF 30 and SPF 70. Don’t use last year’s sunscreen, throw them away and buy a new one. A teaspoon of sunscreen should be enough for your skin, and if you spend too much time in the sun, reapply every 2-3 hours.
Minimal makeup
Summer calls for a less makeup look, or even a natural look. For the face, sunscreen and face cream are just enough to set you up for the day. Use a gloss or a lip balm with an SPF of 15 for the lips, this will make your lips look fresher. If you want to apply foundation, top it up with face powder with SPF to avoid a cakey or blotchy look. Avoid eye makeup in the summer.
facial mist
Face mist can keep your face hydrated and cool this summer. You can make a face mist at home and the steps are quite simple. Put a bag of green tea in boiled water for a while, remove it and let it cool. Add 4 drops of tea tree essential oil to the liquid, pour into a bottle and shake to make sure it mixes well. Use a spray bottle to store it as it is easy for you to use. Mists leave your skin instantly cool, calm and hydrated. If you are someone whose skin is acne prone or has oily skin, apply this daily.
Water
It doesn’t matter how many juices or other drinks you drink, only water will keep you feeling fresh. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day as it not only prevents dehydration but also helps flush many toxins from the body.
