Dr. Arora further cited a study from last year showing that 6,000 to 9,000 steps per day reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in people over the age of 60 by 40 to 50 percent. This research, conducted by the University of Massachusetts, USA, is published in the Journal of Circulation. Walking not only improves physical health, but also maintains mental health.
