Adopting unhealthy eating habits during your Navratri fast can make you lethargic. You need to stay hydrated and eat foods that boost your energy levels while also losing those extra inches.
Curd/Dairy products
During Chaitra Navratri it is very hot. Dairy products such as paneer, curd and buttermilk should be consumed during the fast. These products keep you hydrated and maintain your ideal body temperature. You can take curd in the form of lassi, or make a dahi raita by adding rock salt, tomato and cucumber.
Dry fruits
Dry fruits should be eaten while fasting on Chaitra Navratri. You can add them to your kheer or mix them in laddus. You can also make almond chikki, which gives you a lot of energy.
sabudana
Sabudana (tapioca pearls) have many health benefits. They are rich in carbohydrates, calcium, fiber, protein, iron and vitamin K. Therefore, it is an ideal food choice while fasting. You can have sabudana kheer or sabudana khichdi.

Carbohydrate intake is necessary to maintain your energy level. Potatoes are an ideal source of energy and are rich in carbohydrates. Avoid fried potato products. Having boiled potatoes is ideal.
Water chestnut (Singhada)
Water chestnut is rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. Hence, it is a perfect food option to fast during Navratri. You can get water chestnut by making pudding from the flour.
