A host of royalty and celebrities have flocked to the All-England Club in London to watch Wimbledon 2023 from the stands. Larissa D’Sa, a prominent content producer from India, makes her championship debut this year and makes history as the first Indian lifestyle influencer to be invited as a guest spectator at the oldest and most famous tennis tournament in the world.
Larissa D’Sa, a passionate tennis fan, says: “My introduction to the sport took place at a very early stage of my life. During my early teens I watched practically every tournament with my dad and he always taught me the technicalities of the game. My fondest memory of tennis goes back to school when I started keeping a diary with clippings of interviews with tennis stars and all kinds of news from the tennis world. My all time favorite players are Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. What really attracted me to the sport was how tennis is a game of mental agility, which has always been my life motto. While playing soccer in college, it was always my secret desire to learn how to play tennis, but I had no financial means to continue it. Today has come full circle for me as I have been one of the chosen ones to attend Wimbledon and see the tennis legends live in action. I am extremely grateful and excited because my dad will be going to Wimbledon with me. He literally burst into tears when I surprised him with the news and I couldn’t think of a better sporting plus one than him.”
The travel writer and entrepreneur will up the court style by attending the event in an Adagio costume and jewelry from her jewelry company Beyond Larissa. A tennis match is also expected between her and Indian tennis legend Sania Mirza, who will compete in the Ladies Legends Invitation Doubles category.
