While we’re still trying to get over Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s dreamy wedding, another inside scoop has made the close-knit marriage talk of the town. Now we witnessed Alia set the internet on fire with her subtle look for her wedding parties, which included minimalist ensemble and jewelry choices. And her Mehendi look was complemented by white and yellow corsages on her wrist that stood out in her overall look. Those corsages were from Floral Art and Design by Srishti Kapur, which totally added the required floral touch to her Mehendi look. But did you know that Srishti actually didn’t know she designs them for Alia? Yes, you read that right. In a candid interview with The Indian Express, Srishti revealed that she didn’t know those corsages are for the actress, nor did she think Alia would actually wear them.
In case you didn’t know, the actress took her vows in a beautiful ivory Sabyasachi sari, and during her Mehendi ceremony, she looked stunningly vibrant in a Manish Malhotra fuchsia lehenga. While talking about the floral corsages, Srishti said they had asked her to create “something very delicate and simple” for the Brahmastra actress. The designer revealed that she “got the reference of a dry flower tiara” to design something like this for Alia’s hands. And as she detailed those corsages, she said they were made from fresh flowers with some gold thread, with a “very delicate and intricate design.” Not only this, but she used “pale yellow and white flowers with some pearls”.
While revealing that she didn’t know who she designs those corsages for, she said she only found out that Alia was wearing it when the fun mehendi pictures were out. The Indian Express quoted Srishti as saying “I didn’t know they were for Alia”, adding that she was not informed because she was “contacted by the donation and supplier coordination partner” of the celebratory wedding. She added: “As such, I also didn’t know she would actually wear them (or not). It wasn’t until we saw the official mehendi photos that we realized she was indeed wearing the corsages we made!
Not only this, but while designing the boutonniere, she didn’t even know what the actress would wear on the occasion. So while citing her entire look as “interesting,” she revealed that she chose white because it’s “a neutral color” and goes with any look. Srishti added that if she had known about her look sooner, she “would have added a few more floral elements”, but she concluded by saying that she looked “amazing” despite the less floral elements. Speaking of Alia and Ranbir’s wedding, Bollywood’s lovers tied the knot on April 14 in an intimate wedding, which was held at Vastu, the Mumbai apartment complex.
