Dolly J showcased a breathtakingly astonishing collection, Meraki, during India Couture Week organized by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). The evening started with a performance by a jazz musician and models who walked the ramp in a typical jazz manner. The team went into great detail and created a jazz club atmosphere and created a woody fragrance with different notes of, for example, cracked leather. The concept revolved around a certain fluidity that exists with serenity.
An ode to that certain silence that brings about a monumental change: a metamorphosis. This collection is inspired by tranquility, the basis for growth and progress. Golden hues, flowing textures and dramatic waterfalls dotted with beautiful motifs and embellishments that mean change, the designer has paid tribute to a period of introspection at the heart of transformation with this outing.
The ensembles showcased the designer’s signature feminine sensibility with a glamorous edge. From body-sculpted saris to gowns in serene champagne, dusky rose, powdered lilac and shimmering gold, the collection is a celebration of our rich Indian culture and heritage.
Shilpa Shetty Kundra became a showstopper and wowed the audience in an elegant dress with perfect shine and tulle and in her glamorous avatar she took a lipstick from the pocket of her dress and applied it to the slope. ‘I loved the collection, Meraki. My ensemble is an absolutely beautiful creation, the construction is very intricate, because the back and the front are literally sewn together. It is quite heavy with the embellishments and tulle. Any bride would feel comfortable and beautiful in it,” the actor said.
On a lighter note, she added: “The USP of this outfit is the pockets. It’s the one thing I really missed in my reception outfit because I wanted to keep a powder puff but couldn’t. So I really wanted to let clients see what a bag could really do and I wore a lipstick and applied it on the slope. That was a moment.”
The actor further believes that when an actor walks down the ramp, they walk and then go backstage, but it’s important to show the outfit and how useful a bag is in an outfit especially for a woman.
The actor tripped in the driveway nearly three times, she explains: “It was the velvet. Before the trials, I wore two-inch heels, and today I chose to wear two-inch heels, so the cancan went almost three times over my head. heels and stumbled, but this is life.”
The designer has used a lot of molten gold in metallic fabric in her collection. The designer feels different from red to the bride, a touch of gold and silver should be mandatory. The designer wanted to create a lifelong experience for her clients. “I am humbled that FDCI has given us this opportunity and we have put our heart and soul into this collection. Not just clothing, we wanted to create an experience for our customers. And I hope people enjoyed the show,” said Dolly J.
