Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi, is a widely celebrated festival that starts on September 19 this year. This 10-day festival commemorates the birth of Lord Ganesha and falls on the Chaturthi tithi of Shukla Paksha every year. On this auspicious occasion, devotees present various prasads to Lord Ganesh including modaks, motichoor laddoos, besan ladoos, sweet puran poli and an array of delectable dishes including the Rajasthani churma laddu.
Churma Laddus holds an important position in Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisine. They serve as essential components of festive celebrations and festivals. These laddus are prepared using key ingredients like flour, jaggery and desi ghee. Not only are they delicious, but they also offer numerous health benefits.
The whole wheat flour in the laddu provides fiber and essential nutrients, while jaggery serves as a natural and nutritious sweetener. Nuts added to the laddu contribute healthy fats and proteins. You can even add poppy seeds for a better taste. Here’s how you can make it at home:
