Masoom Minawala’s fashion game representing India ‘Country of Honour’ on a global platform such as the Cannes Film Festival for three consecutive years was also popular this year.
From head to toe Valentino to celebrating Indian craftsmanship in Amit Aggarwal’s creation, Masoom’s eclectic and vibrant looks were styled by renowned fashion stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania.
Delighted to have walked the red carpet for several brands wearing ensembles that celebrated her personality, when asked what her favorite look was, Masoom Minawala says: “I loved all my ensembles, there was a lot of thought put into putting them together. But if I had one outfit it would be the pink Yousef Akbar dress I wore for the red carpet I absolutely loved the glamorous minimalist statement it made with his train.
By stepping out of her comfort zone and experimenting with silhouettes and hues, Masoom’s Cannes journey is an inspiration to every aspiring content creator/influencer in India. Here’s a look at some of her best looks from Cannes that made a classy impression.
Season of pink
Masoom expressed her love for the color pink in not one but two ensembles on Day 1 of the Cannes Film Festival. Her first look at the film festival was an energetic pink ensemble from Maison Valentino, paired with matching square-toe platform pumps. She experimented further with the color in a voluminous Yousef Akbar dress, which she wore for the red carpet L’Oréal Paris. Crafted from taffeta polyester, the vibrant dress features a long train that adds a touch of drama to her overall look.
celebrating India
Masoom has always encouraged and supported Indian designers on the global platform. Also this year she dressed from head to toe in Indian creations. To celebrate the opening of the Indian Pavilion in Cannes, Masoom donned a hand-embroidered cape-sleeved blouse made of bugle beads, pearls and yarn and paired it with a draped chiffon skirt. The ensemble was designed by the celebrated Indian designer Amit Aggarwal. Crafted from delicate coral flower lace, this mint top features glass and ceramic bead detailing and is softly textured with metallic polymer.
Flower Power
With a spring in her step, Masoom’s Sophie Couture dress looked like something out of a fairytale. The voluminous corset-style dress featured an array of multicolored flowers. The heavily embroidered flowers on tulle gave a summery vibe to her overall red carpet look.
Influencing style
Masoom wore a Saiid Kobeisy jet black tulle dress with straight beads for the World Influencers and Bloggers Awards (WIBA). A winning dress for a winning moment, the outfit featured a wide slit and a geometrically shaped bust paired with a dramatic ruffle at the side padded with several layers of black tulle. She completed the look with a bejeweled croissant clutch designed by Judith Leiber.
