INTERNATIONAL TEA DAY 2023: For all you tea lovers, it’s time to brace yourself because the day to celebrate our favorite beverage has arrived. It’s International Tea Day. The day is marked to spread awareness about the importance of the drink. The United Nations General Assembly decided to celebrate the day on May 21 every year. According to the official website, International Tea Day will “promote and encourage collective action to carry out activities in favor of the sustainable production and consumption of tea and raise awareness of its importance in the fight against hunger and poverty.”

The aim of the day is to stimulate sustainable tea production, trade and consumption. It provides a platform for leaders at the global, regional and national levels to prioritize the tea industry’s contribution to alleviating extreme poverty, fighting hunger and protecting natural resources and livelihoods.
