SWAMI VIVEKANANDA DEATH BIRTHDAY: Swami Vivekananda’s secular ideals became part of the Indian constitution. Every year, July 4 marks the anniversary of the death of India’s youth icon, Swami Vivekananda.
Swami Vivekananda is remembered for his contribution to society. It was Swami Vivekananda who steered the country towards modernity with religion. At the young age of 30, he introduced the world to Hinduism in Chicago during the Parliament of Religions.
Swami Vivekananda believed in the all-encompassing upliftment of society. He advocated for women’s empowerment and meditation. He strove for a social order where the feelings of religion and spiritual traditions are combined with science and technology. Swami Vivekananda was a modern thinker and therefore advocated education as a fundamental right of the masses.
On this day, let’s remember some sayings of Swami Vivekananda
1. Do not seek and do not avoid, take what comes.
2. All differences in this world are gradual, and not of a kind, because unity is the secret of all.
3. You have to grow from within. No one can teach you, no one can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher than your own soul.
4. Never think that anything is impossible for the soul. It is the greatest heresy to think so. If there is sin, it is the only sin to say that you are weak, or that others are weak.
5. One day when you do not encounter any problems, you can be sure that you are on the wrong track.
6. Include one idea. Make that one idea your life; dream of it; remember; live off that idea. Let the brain, body, muscles, nerves, and every part of your body be full of that idea, and leave every other idea alone. This is the road to success, and this is the way great spiritual giants are produced.
