There are many claims that women in good shape have a better chance of better fertility. Although a new clinical study published in PLOS medicine has rejected these claims.
This randomized study was conducted in 379 women. The participants were divided into two groups, with the first half following a diet with meal replacements and increased exercise. The other half had started exercising more without focusing on weight loss. After completing their respective programs, they received three rounds of standard infertility treatments. Women in the first group had lost 7 percent of body weight, while others maintained their weight.
However, no significant differences were recorded between the two groups in terms of healthy birth rate. The intensive diet program had other benefits, such as reduced metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome can increase the risk of diabetes, stroke and heart disease.
Daniel J. Haisenleder, one of the researchers for this study, said weight loss does not improve fertility. Haisenleder said infertility is a major health problem. According to him, more research will be needed in the future to address this problem.
Still, according to experts, someone who is obese is less likely to have healthy babies. According to The Indian Express, Dr. Manjiri Mehta indicated that obesity can affect the fertility of both men and women. dr. Mehta said fat cells can convert a male hormone into a female hormone. According to her, healthy food and a fit lifestyle are part of your body.
For couples who cannot conceive naturally, many techniques have been developed too late to help them. Variations fall into categories:-
artificial fertilization- Women are artificially inseminated with their husband’s sperm.
Embryo transfer– If a woman cannot produce eggs, another woman can be inseminated with the man’s sperm.
Frozen materials– Sperm, eggs and embryos can all be frozen and stored for a long time.
