Come summers, and sattu becomes part of the main diets for most of us. The flour made from roasted chana, legumes and grains has a cooling effect on the body and can help you escape the effects of rising temperature or heat stroke. It is light on the stomach and comes with easy to prepare recipes in its various forms of consumption. You can choose to consume sattu as a drink by adding water and salt according to your taste. But if you feel like treating your taste buds to something desi, you can also choose to make Sattu Ka Paratha. Unlike stuffing for other parathas, the stuffing for sattu ka paratha is easy to make. And trust us, you won’t regret trying it out (if you haven’t already)
Ingredients of Sattu Ka Paratha
Wheat flour – 3 cups
Sattu – 2 cups
Onion finely chopped – 2
Garlic grater Ground – 5
Grated ginger – 1 tsp
Ajwain – 1/2 teaspoon
Green Chili Mince – 3
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Amchur – 1 teaspoon
Green coriander chopped – 1 tbsp
Ghee – 2 teaspoons
Oil
Salt – to taste
To make Sattu Paratha, first take wheat flour and make a dough. Now add ghee and salt to taste to the flour and knead it by adding a little water. Make sure the dough is not too soft.
Keep the dough aside for some time after kneading. Now put sattu in a bowl and add garlic paste, ginger paste, chopped onion, lemon juice, amchur, green coriander, chopped green chillies, carom seed and salt to taste and mix them well. Then add 2 teaspoons of water and mix well again.
Now proceed to make Sattu Ka Paratha. Take the already kneaded dough and knead it again. Make balls from the dough. Now roll out the dough in the shape of Puri
Now put the Sattu’s filling in the middle of the dough and fold the dough over. Now first round the dough, then press it by placing it between the palms and then roll the paratha.
Now take a non-stick pan/Tawa and keep it on medium heat. Put some oil on the pan and spread it over the pan. Put the paratha on top and cook for a few seconds. After that, flip the paratha and cook it on the other side and apply oil. Cook the paratha until it is golden brown on both sides. After that, take the paratha on a plate. and serve it with cottage cheese or tomato sauce.
