About 8 crore people in India suffer from diabetes.
Some patients sweat a lot with diabetes and there could be many reasons for this. But it is necessary to keep an eye on these symptoms and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Diabetes is a chronic disease that is rapidly increasing worldwide. According to a study by the World Health Organization, more than 422 million people in the world suffer from diabetes and about 15 lakh people die from it every year. It is a matter of great concern, as 17 percent of all diabetes patients in the world come from India. This means that about 8 crore people in India suffer from diabetes. According to statistics, 13.5 crore people will have diabetes in India by the year 2045. This is one of the reasons why India is known as the diabetes capital of the world.
Symptoms
Symptoms of diabetes may include losing weight, frequent urination, feeling hungry and thirsty, blurred vision, numbness in hands or feet, feeling tired, dizziness, and sweating.
When a person has diabetes, the body’s ability to maintain its natural temperature is compromised. This makes the person dizzy and sweats at night. It is a concern because it means that the sugar content is not under control.
Why do you sweat a lot?
According to the Verywell Health website, “In diabetic patients, excessive sweating occurs when blood sugar levels are out of control. Well, everyone sweats, but with diabetic neuropathy, some people experience sweat in the feet or thighs.” According to research, about 84 percent of people with diabetes sweat excessively. The main reason for this is that the amount of sugar in the blood decreases.
Diabetes patients take medications to lower blood sugar. Taking these drugs absorbs the sugar quickly. On the other hand, people with diabetes avoid eating sweets. This is the reason that there is a shortage of sugar or glucose in the body and when you have low blood glucose, the body sweats more.
What are the remedies?
However, making a few lifestyle changes can prevent such ailments. Avoid drinking alcohol and try not to eat hot and spicy foods as this can lead to night sweats. Before going to bed, check your glucose level and take the necessary steps to make sure it doesn’t drop too low during the night.
If you’re concerned about your sweating and diabetes, it’s better to talk to your doctor and make sure your diabetes and blood sugar levels are well controlled.
