Ingredients you need:
1 cup of Dalia
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 cup green peas
1/2 cup soaked moong dal (split green gram)
2 teaspoons ghee (clarified butter)
1 pinch asafoetida (hung)
1 chopped tomato
1 grated carrot
4 cups of water
Salt to taste
Let’s start cooking:
Step 1: Start by roasting the dalia in a pan. Heat a teaspoon of ghee in a pan and add the dalia. Roast it for 2-3 minutes until you smell the nutty aroma.
Step 2: In a pressure cooker, add a spoonful of ghee and let it heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them crackle for a minute. Then add the asafoetida and ginger paste and fry briefly. Add the chopped tomatoes, mix well and cook until the tomatoes soften.
Step 3: Now add the green peas, grated carrots, turmeric and salt to your taste to the pan. Mix thoroughly and cook for about 2 minutes. Once everything is nicely cooked, add the soaked moong dal and water. Stir it well, close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles.
