There’s no denying that being a pet parent is one of the best feelings in the world. But besides that, it’s also a hard truth that it can be a little hectic to care for them, especially if you train them during their first days. Now proper training and behavioral practices are hugely important to the growth of a dog’s mental fitness. And it is the pet’s parent’s responsibility to think it through carefully. Adnan Khan, who describes some tricks to help a pet parent train their dog, part-time behavior consultant, Adnan Khan has revealed in conversation with the media that he has often come across owners who blame their furry friend for everything.
Dispelling this common misconception, Adnan said, “In reality, most dogs have almost very little wrong with them; but it is the owners whose actions and character are directly reflected in their pets.” Adnan added that it is the “knowledge and dedication” of a pet parent that can help provide “the most structured and happy life for their dogs.” Pet parents even have the option of hiring a trainer or behaviorist. but the owners must be deeply involved in the lives of their furry friends as they are the ones who spend time with their dog Another reason for this is that although the trainers can teach the dog new tricks it is the parent who must regularly practice and impose these commands on their dogs.
Dog behavior and training expert, Mitali Salvi, explained some ways to train your dog, not paying attention to an activity you don’t want him to do is at the top of the list. Mitali explains that if your dog is behaving in a way that you want to change, such as asking for scraps from the table, you are not paying attention to him. Don’t even say a ‘no’. Do not handle the dog while eating. Keep consistency and after a certain point your dog will learn that this behavior is not helping him and will eventually stop.
In addition, puppies are generally energetic and friendly. But if your pup seems to be dominant or stubborn, make sure his energy is being used in some form. The expert suggests having them do physical and mental exercises. And when the energy is focused on certain actions, your pup will eventually calm down. She continued that your pet needs to learn to be alone for a while without depending on you. And this crate training will help your dog have a space to themselves where they can enjoy their alone time. But keep in mind that you don’t force your puppy into the crate. Instead, try to make the crate a desirable place for him.
