World Day for Safety and Health: Meaning
Workplace safety is still a civilian concept in many parts of the world. It is because in some places the value of human life is surpassed by the demands in this industrial, mass-producing world. That is why the annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work emphasizes the importance of safety and health at work.
It should be noted that the impetus to maintain good safety and health standards is equally shared across all sectors of society. This means that it is the policy makers’ responsibility to map out legislation and regulations that guarantee employability. It is their duty for employers to ensure that the working environment is safe and healthy. The responsibility to work safely and to prioritize their health rests with the employees.
