Congress state unit president Kamal Nath on September 25 mocked Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan for being excluded from the BJP’s election campaign. He added that even the Prime Minister is bothered by the double speed of MP CM Chouhan’s lie machine.
In a post on X, he wrote: “Shivraj ji, be patient today. Every time the Prime Minister comes to Madhya Pradesh, you involve him in one lie or the other. Along with the people of Madhya Pradesh, the Prime Minister is also bothered by the double speed of your lie machine, which is why he has excluded you from the entire election campaign. You have become the first Prime Minister of the country who is the Prime Minister but not the face of the Prime Minister.”
Listing his list of lies, he wrote, “You told him in Rewa that the income of farmers has more than doubled, while in his NITI Aayog report, the income of farmers of Madhya Pradesh had fallen.”
He further stated his other lies about gas cylinder and petrol prices in the state.
He wrote: “In Bhopal, you handed him the wrong leaflet and he told that the price of petrol in Madhya Pradesh was less than 100 litres. In this way they became involved in another lie.”
“Your lies about the prices of gas cylinders also affect the Prime Minister. You don’t give it to anyone, but say you will give a gas cylinder for it ₹450, while the Prime Minister says you will give a cylinder for it ₹900.
He further stated, “During the Prime Minister’s visit to Sagar district, you told him that the Congress government was not paying attention to Bundelkhand while the UPA government had given special Bundelkhand package. ₹7200 crore to Bundelkhand region.”
Earlier, when Home Minister Amit Shah was asked about the CM face for Assembly polls, he said the party would decide on the chief minister’s post only after the elections.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today address a ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’, a mega congregation of BJP workers in Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. The event will take place at Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal. Since the past few weeks, the BJP has taken out the yatras, a mass contact programme, from five different places in Madhya Pradesh, where elections are being held this year. The ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ is being organized on the birth anniversary of party ideologue Deendayal Upadhyay. According to a senior BJP member, around 10 lakh workers are expected to participate in the mega-municipality.
House of Representatives election 2018
In the 2018 Assembly elections, the BJP missed another opportunity to come to power as the Congress won 114 out of 230 seats, restricting the saffron party to 109. The Congress led by Kamal Nath formed a coalition government with the support of Independents, BSP and SP. However, the dispensation collapsed after 15 months when a string of Congress MLAs led by Jyotiraditya Scindia, now Union minister, joined the saffron party, paving the way for Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s return as chief minister.
