The National Aeronautics of Space Administration (NASA) has issued a warning that an asteroid the size of an 80-foot airplane will approach Earth today, i.e. on June 23.
In its warning, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory said that asteroid 2024 KN1, categorized under the Amor group, has a diameter of about 27 meters and will travel at a speed of about 16,500 kilometers per hour.
According to reports, asteroid 2024 KN1 will safely pass by the Earth, at a distance of 5.6 million kilometers, about 14 times the distance between the Earth and the moon.
