The last commercial supersonic flight was BA002, from New York to London, on October 24, 2003. Blake Scholl, boss of Boom Supersonic, in Denver, hopes that people don't have to wait two more decades for the next one. Boom's alleged Concorde replacement, Overture, which is intended to transport 64-80 passengers (Concorde worn 100), has not yet been built. But on January 28 XB-1, a demonstrator broke a third scale that the company uses to test its AirFrame technology for the first time.
This 34 -minute flight, the highlight of 11 earlier Subsonic, departed from Mojave Air and Space Port in California. Commercial flights would start in 2029 in this schedule.
There is certainly commercial interest. According to Mr. Scholl, the order book is currently at 130. He sees the relationship between Concorde and Overture as a mirror that made between the Apollo project and the rockets by SpaceX.
