Lunar Eclipse 2023 Updates: On rare occasions, October will witness its second solar eclipse on October 28. Lunar eclipse or Chandra Grahan will be observed just 14 days after the solar eclipse on October 14. Indians will get to see the phenomenal celestial event tonight as the lunar eclipse will take place on Saturday. The partial lunar eclipse will begin around 11:31 PM. And by midnight around 1 a.m., the dark part of the Earth’s shadow (umbra) will envelop the moon’s surface. Tonight’s lunar eclipse will be visible from several Indian cities. It will also be visible in other Asian countries, Europe, Africa and North America.

Lunar Eclipse 2023: Temples closed early today
Badrinath Shrine, Kedarnatha Shrine, Shri Narasingh Temple in Joshimath, Second Kedar Madmaheshwar, Third Kedar Tungnath, Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath and Yoga Badri Pandukeshwar will close at 4 pm on Saturday due to the lunar eclipse.
The temples open in the ‘brahma muhurta’ after the morning purification puja on Sunday.

All temples under the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, including Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines, will close at 4 pm on Saturday due to the lunar eclipse.
Badrinath and Kedarnath temples will be opened on Sunday in the ‘brahma muhurta’ after the morning purification puja.
About lunar eclipse
Lunar eclipses occur during the full moon phase. When the Earth is directly between the moon and the sun, the Earth’s shadow falls on the moon’s surface, darkening it and sometimes turning the moon’s surface a striking red over the course of a few hours. Each lunar eclipse is visible from half of the Earth.

According to reports, the solar eclipse in India will begin around 11:31 PM and end at 1:05 AM on Saturday. It starts at 1am on Sunday.
