NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, who has been in space for an extended period of time, has said she is enjoying it there and is in good health. Despite some concerns about her weight loss, Williams assured the public in an exclusive interview that she is eating right and maintaining her fitness routine.
In an exclusive interview with NBC NewsSunita Williams was asked how she and fellow astronaut Butch are coping with their long time in space and whether it's taking a toll on the body. The astronaut replied, “Part of being in space is training. We train two hours a day. Our bodies have changed a bit, and that's why we have to train so much, some people call it space fanaticism.”
Williams also responded to social media discussions about her health and weight, saying that she and fellow astronaut Butch are doing well.
“We're feeling good, training, eating well, it's just great,” she said. “We are also really enjoying ourselves here. So you know, people are worried about us. Don't worry about us,' she said NBC News.
Sunita Williams shares Thanksgiving message in new video
In her Thanksgiving message, Williams said, “Our crew here just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends and family who are on Earth and everyone who supports us.”
Meanwhile, Sunita Williams will return to Earth in February 2025, almost eight months after her Starliner spaceflight launched from Earth in June this year. Sunita Williams and Butch Willmore launched into the ISS in June.
The duo was scheduled to return to Earth almost a month after their launch, but their return flight was postponed several times due to a technical glitch on the Boeing Starliner. Now the two are ready to return to Earth in a SpaceX Dragon Freedom spacecraft.
