Indian players pose in “Killer” sponsored kits©Instagram
The Indian cricket team is all set to embark on a new adventure as they face Sri Lanka in a three match T20I series against Sri Lanka. But ahead of the start of the first match between the two teams in Mumbai, a few pictures and videos of Indian players’ kits left the fans wondering. In a photo shared by Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, the players were seen wearing jerseys with a new logo. However, no official announcement has been made about a change in sponsorship by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Even the BCCI shared a video on Twitter on Tuesday of the players wearing their kits with the “Killer” logo. However, no explanation was given by the board about the visible change.

A member who is part of the Indian team management and is aware of the developments informed DailyExpertNews that the kit sponsor has indeed changed but could not confirm whether an official announcement will be made about the same or not.
In December, a PTI report claimed that both Byju’s and MPL wanted to end their sponsorship deals with the BCCI. The report stated that MPL wanted to assign kit and merchandise rights to KKCL.
The sponsor of the team kit and merchandise had transferred the BCCI for the full transfer of its rights to Kewal Kiran Clothing Limit (KKCL). The existing contract runs until December 31, 2023. MPL had replaced Nike in November 2020.
While no official announcement has been made from either of the two parties involved, it appears that the change has already been made.
