Madhya Pradesh made history on Sunday when they recorded their first-ever Ranji Trophy title win. The Aditya Shrivastava-led side triumphed over domestic heavyweights Mumbai in the top clash by six wickets. Madhya Pradesh chased 108 taking just 29.5 overs to cross the line and in the end Rajat Patidar went unbeaten at 30 as he hit the winning runs for his side. When Patidar hit the winning shot, the entire crowd erupted with RCB, RCB sings as the batter plays for the Bengaluru franchise in the IPL.
However, the credit for Madhya Pradesh’s win should go to coach Chandrakant Pandit who knows how to win the Ranji trophy. Pandit now has six times Ranji Trophy as a coach. He had led Mumbai to three titles, Vidharbha to two titles and now has completely conquered Madhya Pradesh.
Indian wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik took to Twitter to praise Pandit, and Madhya Pradesh for winning the Ranji title.

It is important to note that Chandrakant Pandit had lost the Ranji final as a player in 1999 when he played for Madhya Pradesh against Karnataka and now 23 years later, it came full circle when Madhya Pradesh won the title on the same ground.
Speaking of the post-final win, Pandit said: “It’s a great memory I had left behind 23 years ago (he lost the Ranji Trophy final as an MP captain in 1998-99) and it’s a blessing to be back here, and winning this trophy was fantastic it’s emotional because as captain i missed on the same ground there’s no specific reason but i’m looking for a challenging job where the teams don’t do well there has to be youngsters too and to develop that specific state. I played for MP and played for them for six years, I knew the culture and when I got the offer in March I didn’t hesitate.”
