Aston Villa’s Brazilian star Douglas Luiz scored a brilliant goal against Arsenal on Thursday within minutes of coming on as a substitute. One goal down, Luiz was sent off in the 73rd minute by manager Steven Gerrard. His first touch was a corner which was headed back by Gunners midfielder Granit Xhaka for another corner. Luiz lined up again around the corner and then went for the spectacular. The Brazilian curled the ball in beautifully and beat Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for a spectacular equalizer.

Arsenal complained about a foul on Ramsdale, but the goal came after a VAR check.
However, this is not a new achievement for Luiz. He had scored similarly against Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup last month.
A video on his and Aston Villa’s Instagram accounts also shows him practicing scoring from a corner.
Aston Villa’s joy at leveling the game did not last long, however.
Gabriel Martinelli dribbled down Arsenal’s left wing before switching wing to find Takehiro Tomiyasu, who slid into Bukayo Saka on the right side of the penalty area.
Saka teased the defenders before pushing the ball over the goal and Martinelly, who had been brilliant all evening, reached the end of the crotch and shot a left footed finish to put Arsenal back ahead.
The Gunners, who had opened the scoring through Gabriel Jesus in the first half, held onto a 2-1 lead and secured five wins from as many games in the Premier League this season.
