Colombo, Sri Lanka (AP) -Tanvir Islam's Maiden Five-Wicket Hul and Parvez Hossain Emon's Maiden Half Century helped Bangladesh Sri Lanka beat with 16 points in the second one-day international on Saturday.
Bangladesh was 248 on the 46th in R. Premadasa Stadium. Sri Lanka cruised on 75-2 but returned to 170-8 and still needed 79 runs.
The ninth wicket stand between Janith Liyanage and Dushantha Chameera declined 58 points, but the pressure finally said.
The series was 1-1 with the decision maker on Tuesday in Pallekele.
Bangladesh lost their first wicket with a total of 10 when Tanzid Hasan (7) pointed fast Bowler Asitha Fernando on Wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis.
Emon and Najmul Hossain Shanto overcome the early loss of Tanzid Hasan with 63 points for the second Wicket. Shanto was for 14 for Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka, but Emon lasted 67 out of 69 deliveries until he did not succeed in reading a googly of leg spinner Wanindu Hasaranga. Emon hit three sixes and six borders.
Towhid Hridoy's 51 out of 69, including only two borders, pushed Bangladesh and there were useful contributions from Tanzim Hasan Sakib (33 out of 21), Jaker Ali (24) and Shamim Hossain (22).
Fernando took 4-35 and Hasaranga 3-60.
Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka chased 249 to win and again failed, LBW to Sakib for 5. Nissanka was in great shape in the at all with two hundreds, but in the first ODI he went for a duck.
Kusal Mendis and Nishan Madushka shared 69 for the second Wicket, and Mendis brought his 34th ODI half century in just 20 deliveries, the fastest to the location.
He skipped Spinner Tanvir for 17 points in the eighth and four consecutive four in the next overflowing by Pacer Mustafizur Rahman.
Tanvir came back strongly in his next about the fact that Madushka was caught by Hridoy. He rejected Kusal Mendis in his supporters for 56 of 31 deliveries, including a six and nine limits.
Sri Lanka dropped in the 30th to 132-6 and still needs more than 100 runs.
Liyanage gave the host hope while reaching 78 of 85 deliveries with two sixes and seven borders. But his partnership with no. 10 Battery Chameera was always nervous.
Liyanage hit left-arm fast Bowler Mustafizur Rahman for a straight six, but the next ball, a slower ball cheated liyanage and mustafizur loved his own bowling.
Tanvir returned 5-39 for Bangladesh.
