With the third test set starting Tuesday, Virat Kohli prepared for the must-win match in the best possible way by spending some quality time in the nets. He hopes to help India achieve a historic test series victory – India’s first in South Africa. After leading his side to a win in Centurion, Kohli was absent for the second Test due to a back spasm with KL Rahul leading the team in his absence. The visitors then lost the match by seven wickets. However, the regular Test captain is fit again and will lead India in the decision. The BCCI took to social media to share a video of Kohli’s training session where he was able to see his impressive array of shots. Here’s the video:

After winning the first Test by 113 runs, India had a disappointing batting display in the second Test.
The likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant were heavily criticized for their poor form.
Pujara, after registering three from 33 balls in the first innings, made a comeback with half a century in the second innings. Rahane, who also flopped in the first innings – registering his first golden duck – showed some encouraging signs with an attacking 58.
Meanwhile, Pant could only collect 17 from 43 balls and then lost his wicket to a golden duck in the second innings.

All eyes will be on Kohli for the third test match, mainly due to his lack of a big score lately. The reckless batter has failed to convert his good starts in his last few innings. During the pre-match press conference, he said he was not too concerned about the criticism.
“This isn’t the first time people are talking about my form, it’s happened a few times in my career. England in 2014 was one of those phases. I don’t look at myself from the lens that the outside world looks at. The standards are by established myself, they do not come from the outside world, and more than anyone else I am proud to do the best for the team and to want to perform regularly for the team,” he said.
