Men’s ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier A kicks off in Oman from February 18, with Nepal taking on the hosts in the opener. The Men’s ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier A includes hosts Oman, Bahrain, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Nepal, Philippines and United Arab Emirates (UAE). Ireland and Oman qualified for this tournament after being eliminated in the first round.
Nepal and UAE booked their slots through their rankings in the ICC Men’s T20I Team rankings. The other participating teams qualified through regional qualifiers held over the course of last year.
The teams in Qualifier A are divided into two groups of four. Each team plays once against all other teams in its group, followed by position classification matches. The two teams that make it to the final will advance to the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
Group A of the qualifier includes Canada, Nepal, Oman and the Philippines, while Group B includes Bahrain, Germany, Ireland and the UAE.
“70 teams have started the qualifying process for this event and we have now reached the final stage with four places in the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be decided in two global qualifiers, starting with this one in Oman,” ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley said according to an official ICC release.

Thanks to Oman Cricket, who hosted their second ICC global event following last year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, for their support in planning what we trust will be another safe and successful event,” he added.
The Men’s ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier B will be held from July 11-17, 2022 in Harare, Zimbabwe and will consist of Hong Kong, Jersey, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Uganda, United States of America ( USA) and with host Zimbabwe.
