The high price tag creates unimaginable pressure which is why Ishan Kishan, the most expensive purchase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction, was advised by the current Indian captain Rohit Sharma and his predecessor Virat Kohli not to wake up to lie about something that is not under his control. Mumbai Indians again bought Ishan from the auction at a staggering price of Rs 15.25 crore but so far there has been no return on investment with the Jharkhand dasher collecting just 321 runs.
Kishan agreed that pricing pressures are on your mind for the first few days, but his Team India seniors have specifically told him not to worry too much about the matter.
“The pressure on the price tag will remain for a few days, but when you feel the pressure, it is always good to talk to the seniors and share your concerns. So many seniors like Rohit (Sharma), Virat bhai (Virat Kohli) and Hardik bhai (Pandya) told me not to think about the price tag because this is not something I asked for. If anyone believed (in me), they did it (offer that amount),” Ishan said prior to MI’s match against Chennai Super Kings.
At the highest level, one cannot think too much about these things as the emphasis is on trying to lead the side to victory.
“Instead of thinking about the price tag, it’s important how I think about improving my game and being in that zone. It helped that I talked to the seniors because they’ve all been through that phase and could empathize in what I felt.” He does feel a tad tougher after his conversations with Rohit and Virat.
“Now I feel light and the price tag is now secondary. It doesn’t matter if you are sold for a base price of Rs 1 crore or for a premium bid of Rs 15.25 core. What is important is to help your team win and also help others to achieve that goal.” Captain, coach asked me to play my natural game

Ishan said skipper Rohit and head coach Mahela Jayawardene asked him to play his natural game.
“The captain and the coach asked me to play my (natural) game. Everyone has roles in the team and for me it was a good start and when I’m done I have to try not to get out of it in the years ’30s and ’40s and turning them into big scores,” said the left-handed batter.
