It was a happy hunting day for the Pat Cummins-led Australian cricket team in the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka in Lucknow on Monday. After losing their first two matches, Australia desperately needed to win again at the 2023 Cricket World Cup, and the team did so with utmost perfection. There was one moment in the match, however, when David Warner was left fuming over an LBW decision. The left-handed star hitter was visibly displeased with an LBW call from umpire Joel Wilson.
During Australia’s 210-run chase against Sri Lanka, David Warner had just started his attack when he was forced off by pacer Dilshan Madushanka in the fourth innings. From a long throw, moving towards the leg, Warner jumped and looked to send the ball to the side. However, the bowler appealed and the umpire dismissed the Australian batsman.
Despite Warner going for DRS, the referee’s decision was upheld due to the referee’s call. David Warner was a frustrated man after the decision as he roared in despair.

Five-time champions Australia recorded their first win of the World Cup campaign with an impressive victory over Sri Lanka here on Monday.
The Australian bowling line-up set the tone of the game and the batters maintained their focus to achieve a five-wicket win.
Australia stumbled early in the innings with David Warner, who is playing in his last ODI World Cup, losing his wicket for a score of 11. Dilshan Madushanka put Warner in front of the stumps in the fourth over.
He raised even more hopes for Sri Lanka, sending Steve Smith back to the dugout for a duck.
Mitchell Marsh and Marnus Labuschagne took care of the innings from then on and prevented another collapse. Marsh went on to score 52 but he was run out due to good fielding work from Karunaratne. Kusal Mendis made no mistake as he loosened the stumps before Marsh could drag his bat into the crease.
Josh Inglis joined Labuschagne. Madushanka claimed the third victim of his evening, sending Labuschagne back for 40 in the 29th over. Dunith Wellalage claimed a consolation wicket from Inglis who hit a crucial 58 off 59 balls.
Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis brought the Baggy Greens across the finish line with a score of 31* and 20* respectively.
Earlier in the innings, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 209 runs in 43.3 overs.
