After half a century of Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram SunRisers took Hyderabad (SRH) past 160 in 18 overs in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 game against Gujarat Titans, they needed one last bloom to reach a big score . In, Shashank Singh ran for his first innings in the IPL 2022. And what happened next is legendary. In just six balls, he scored 25 runs, including three sixes on Lockie Ferguson’s last over.
Thanks to Singh’s brutal attack, finishing with a strike rate of 416.67, SRH finished at 195/6 in 20 overs. The effort was praised by all, including former Indian players.
“The great thing about @IPL is we get to know young players who come in and perform brilliantly. It’s commendable how Shashank performed and took Lockie Ferguson for a coin toss in the last over along with Marco Jansen!” Former Indian cricket team player Harbhajan Singh wrote on social media.

Allrounder Singh represents Chhattisgarh in domestic cricket and has played nine first-class matches. He has also represented Mumbai and Puducherry. In the nine FC games he played, he scored 436 points in one century and three half-centuries. In the IPL, he was previously part of the Rajasthan Royals lineup. It was bought by SRH for its base price of INR 20 Lakh in the IPL 2022 auction.
His brilliant rendering started a meme-fest on Twitter. “#Gt ShashankSingh ko dekh kar flower samje kya #ShashankSingn flower nahi fire hai,” wrote one Twitter user, referring to the super-hit movie Pushpa, starring Allu Arjun.

However, his exploits and that of Umran Malik, who took his first five-wicket haul in the IPL, were in vain as Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan crushed four sixes in the final to get GT across the line.
